Privacy Policy

Effective October 27, 2026

Hi, I’m Sarah, the photographer behind Oak + Honey Co. When you visit this site, reach out about a session, or book with me, you’re trusting me with a little bit of your family’s information. I take that seriously. This page explains, as plainly as I can, what I collect, why, who helps me run things behind the scenes, and the choices you have.

This policy covers oakhoney.co. If you ever have a question about it, just email me at sarah@oakhoney.co.

What I collect

Information you share with me. I only collect what you choose to give me through the forms on this site:

  • Inquiries and contact forms: your name, email, phone number, preferred session date, and anything you tell me about your family and the session you’re dreaming of. Instagram handle and location are optional.
  • Mini session bookings: your name, email, and phone number, your children’s first names (so I know who I’m photographing and when), the time you choose, and your typed name and agreement to the session terms.
  • Client closet and dress rental reservations: your name, email, phone number, and the date of your session.
  • Freebies, guides, and waitlists: your name and email address.
  • Payments: when you pay online, your card details go directly to Stripe, my payment processor. I never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar tools that record basic information such as your browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you found the site. You can see the specific cookies and choose which ones to allow on my Cookie Policy page or by using the cookie banner.

How I use it

  • To answer your questions and plan your session with you
  • To reserve your session time, take payment, and send confirmations, reminders, and your gallery
  • To send the guide, preset, or waitlist update you signed up for, along with occasional emails from me (you can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any email)
  • To understand which pages are helpful and to share my work with families who might love it, including through ads on Google, Facebook, and Instagram
  • To keep the site safe from spam and to keep the records I need for my business, taxes, and legal obligations

I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who helps me run things

I’m a small business, so I rely on a few trusted services. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • Stripe processes online payments.
  • Kit and Flodesk send my emails and newsletters.
  • Google (Google Ads) helps me measure whether my ads lead to inquiries. Google reCAPTCHA may be used on booking forms to block spam.
  • Meta (the Meta Pixel) helps me measure and show my ads on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Instagram powers the photo feed shown on some pages.
  • My website host and email delivery service store this site and deliver form messages to my inbox.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that explains how it handles information. I may also share information if the law requires it, or if Oak + Honey Co. were ever sold or transferred to someone else.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept cookies, say no thanks, or choose which kinds you’re comfortable with. Essential cookies keep the site working. Statistics and marketing cookies only load if you allow them. You can change your mind anytime using the cookie settings button on the site, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The full list is on my Cookie Policy page.

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There isn’t yet a shared standard for how websites should respond to it, so this site doesn’t change its behavior based on that signal. Your cookie choices in the banner are always respected.

About your session photos

How I may use photographs from your session, including sharing them on this site or social media, is covered in your session agreement. If you ever have questions about an image of your family, please reach out and I’ll be glad to talk it through with you.

Children’s privacy

This site is meant for parents and adults. I don’t knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. When you book a session, I may ask you, the parent or guardian, for your children’s first names so I can plan your time together. If you believe a child has shared information with me directly, please email me and I’ll delete it.

How long I keep it and how I protect it

I keep your information only as long as I need it for the reasons above, including any records I’m required to keep for tax or legal purposes. After that, I delete it. I use reasonable safeguards to protect what you share, including secure (HTTPS) connections and trusted payment processing. No website can promise perfect security, but I do my best to take good care of your information.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see the personal information I have about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also unsubscribe from emails whenever you like. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy laws, such as the right to opt out of targeted advertising. To make any request, just email sarah@oakhoney.co. I’ll respond as soon as I can, and I’ll never treat you differently for asking.

Links to other sites

This site links to places like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Once you leave oakhoney.co, those sites’ own privacy policies apply.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, I’ll make it clear on the site or let you know by email.
